Every day is a holiday, because every day is a holy day…a day like no other…a day which should be celebrated.

1 May 2025 – Kopritshtitsa, Bulgaria
On May 1st, in the central square of Koprivshtitsa, there is a celebration and performances of the Bulgarian Uprising entitled “149 years since the April Uprising”. The town’s festive atmosphere is contagious and I recommend you to join in. More info about the beautiful town of Kopritshtitsa can be found by clicking the picture on the left.
4 May 2025 – Latvia
On May 4, Latvia celebrates its Independence Day, and numerous celebrations are planned throughout the country. The capital Riga hosts many events, such as parades, concerts, and so much more. The public transport is free the whole day.
15 May 2025 – Prague, Czech Republic
On May 15, the 17th edition of Saint John’s celebrations takes part on the Valtava River in Prague. The festivities include a solemn mass in the Cathedral of St Vitus, a procession from the Cathedral across Charles Bridge, and a Baroque concert on the Vltava river culminating with fireworks. 17 May 2025 – Oslo, Norway
May 17 is Constitution Day in Norway. On the occasion of the holiday, a large children’s parade is organized every year in the capital Oslo, with thousands of children marching down the main street to the Royal Palace. If you can’t join the celebrations, I invite you to take a virtual tour of the most beautiful places in Norway. 17 May 2025 – Gabrovo, Bulgaria
On May 17, at 18:00, the carnival procession in Gabrovo begins. The celebration is accompanied by numerous concerts and events in the city, which will continue on May 18. More info about the festive program can be found at this link: https://carnival.gabrovo.bg/
21 May 2025 – Montenegro
On May 21, Montenegro celebrates its Independence Day. There will be numerous events and concerts throughout the country. The capital Podgorica will be festively decorated with national flags, and the celebrations will start there with an official ceremony attended by government officials, diplomats and citizens, followed by cultural performances, concerts and art exhibitions. I also recommend you to visit the beautiful coastal town of Budva, which has a festive atmosphere all year round, and the boat trips around the Kotor Bay are something really pleasant and memorable.

26 May 2024 – Vratsa, Bulgaria
Hristo Botev’s Days start this year in Vratsa on May 26 with a festive concerts and celebrations. Last year the culmination of the evening was a light show with 200 drones, which reproduced key moments in the life of the poet and revolutionary Hristo Botev. We look forward to even more impressive celebrations this year.
29 May 2025 – Oslo, Norway

31 May 2025 – China
On May 31, China celebrates the Dragon Boat Festival, also called Duanwu Jie meaning “the beginning of mid-summer festival”. Locals have three non-working days, during which people gather with their families and friends, and enjoy many cultural events and traditional customs. 2 June 2025 – Italy
On June 2, Italy celebrates Republic Day or Festa Della Repubblica. In the capital Rome, there will many celebrations, including a solemn parade, as well as a spectacular air show of low-flying planes leaving a green, white and red trails, known as The Frecce Tricolori. It’s a non-working day in Italy, and many streets are expected to be closed due to the celebrations.

6 June 2025 – Kazanluk, Bulgaria
On June 6, Kazanluk celebrates 122 years of the Rose Festival, with numerous celebrations and concerts. You can see the full program at this link: (kazanlak.com)

6 June 2025 – Sweden
On June 6, the Swedes celebrate their national holiday. On this date in 1523, Gustav Vasa was elected as King of Sweden, and in 1809, on the same date, the constitution of Sweden was sdopted. 17 June 2025 – Iceland

23 June 2025 – Luxembourg
On June 23, Luxembourg celebrates its national day on the occasion of the Grand Duke’s birthday, with numerous celebrations, including a military parade. The fireworks in the evening are especially spectacular.
