SEPTEMBER 1, 2024 – VENICE, ITALY OR LISDOONVARNA, IRLAND

On September 1, the Historical Regatta / Regata Storica will be held in the Venetian Lagoon, and the tradition dates back thousands of years and today continues to be one of the most spectacular events in the beautiful Italian city. The program begins on August 29 with the blessing of the boats and gondolas of the Grand Canale, and on August 30 in the evening there will be a competition for the Marco Polo Cup, The culmination will be on September 1, when the real historical regatta begins. From the 1st to the 30th of September, the largest European festival for singles takes place in the Irish town of Lindunvarna.

SEPTEMBER 3, 2024 – SAN MARINO

On September 3, San Marino honors the feast of Saint Marin and the Day of the Foundation of the Republic in 301 AD. The celebrations begin with a festive liturgy in the Basilica of St. Martin at 10:00 a.m., and from 2:30 p.m. the historic parade from the gate of San Francesco begins, which continues in the evening, and the celebrations end with a concert, a big raffle with prizes and an amazing fireworks show. SEPTEMBER 6, 2024 – BULGARIA

On September 6, Bulgaria celebrates its Unification. Here are some places with more solemn celebrations: 1) Plovdiv – on September 6, the beautiful Bulgarian city celebrates not only 139 years since the Unification of Bulgaria, but also its holiday. The celebrations traditionally begin with a solemn liturgy in the Cathedral of St. Mary, followed by a reenactment of the events of September 6, 1885 and a festive concert; 2) In Sofia, the ceremony begins in front of the Mausoleum-Ossuary of Prince Alexander I of Battenberg, in which the National Guard unit and performances of popular marching songs take part; 3) Varna – the celebrations begin with laying flowers in front of the monument of Prince Alexander Battenberg and a memorial procession along the boulevard. Maria Luisa next to the monument to those who died in the Serbo-Bulgarian War; In the afternoon, the celebrations begin with a folklore festival and a concert; 4) Stara Zagora – laying wreaths in front of the monument Defenders of Stara Zagora, continued with a concert; 5) Veliko Tarnovo – the holidays begin with a military ritual for raising the national flag, followed by a festive blessing, solemn march and laying wreaths and flowers, continued with a festive concert of the Brass Band at the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo and the culmination of the holiday is the audio-visual performance Tsarevets – Sound and Light.

SEPTEMBER 10, 2024 – GIBRALTAR

On 10 September, Gibraltar celebrates its National Day, with celebrations starting at Casemates Square, John Mackintosh Square, followed by the Governor’s Parade and ceremonial fireworks. The full programme of events can be found here

SEPTEMBER 13, 2024 – BATH, UK

From 13 to 26 September, the beautiful city of Bath will hosts Jane Austen Festival. The celebration begins with a costume parade that fills the streets of the city with over 500 people in costumes, and since 2004 they have held the Guinness World Record for “The Largest Gathering of People Dressed in Victorian Costumes”.  Over the next 10 days, a rich cultural program of tours, balls, theatrical performances and much more follows. SEPTEMBER 16, 2024 – MALAYSIA OR MEXICO

Every year on September 16, Malaysia celebrates its national holiday, marking the founding of the Malaysian Federation. This year it also coincides with the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad and accordingly the country will celebrate a double holiday. The celebrations include a solemn parade, cultural performances and many other festivals

On the other side of the world, on September 16, the Independence Day in Mexico is celebrated. On this day in 1810, the priest Miguel Hidalgo y Costa rang the church bell in Dolores to call his parishioners to an announcement of revolution against the colonial government of Spain. Today, cities are dotted with numerous Mexican flags, people gather together in a merry fiesta.

SEPTEMBER 21, 2024 – OKTOBERFEST IN GERMANY

OCTOBER 1, 2024 – NATIONAL HOLIDAY OF CHINA

On October 1 every year, the Chinese celebrate the founding of the People’s Republic of China, with many celebrations, and every 10 years with a majestic parade. In fact, the whole week from October 1 to October 7 is called “Golden Week”, during which most Chinese travel around the country to enjoy the holiday. OCTOBER 3, 2024 . GERMANY

October 3 is the Day of German Reunification and a national holiday in the country. The day commemorates the accession of the former German Democratic Republic to the Federal Republic of Germany. The fall of the Berlin Wall is celebrated in all cities, and usually each year one of the capitals of the federal states is chosen to hold a larger festival on the occasion of Tag der deutschen Einheit. In 2023 it was Hamburg and in 2024 it was Schwerin.

OCTOBER 23, 2024, HUNGARY

On October 23, Hungarians celebrate the Day of the Hungarian Republic, commemorating two great events in the history of Hungary. Firstly, when the people of Hungary stood up to the Soviet Union, and secondly, the creation of Hungary in 1989.

OCTOBER 29, 2024 – TURKEY

On October 29, 2024, Turkey will proudly celebrates the 101ST anniversary of the Turkish Republic and the whole nation is abuzz with anticipation for the grand celebrations. Exactly 100 years ago, on this day, the country renounced the status of the Ottoman Empire and Mustafa Kemal Ataturk became the founder of the Republic of Turkey. Since then, Turkey has been constantly developing and every year shows new wonders to millions of visitors. On October 29th in Istanbul is expected to have a spectacular light show of some of the main historic sites such as Galata Tower, Dolmabahce Palace and many others. There are expected to be many more concerts and other events in the city on the occasion of the holiday.
