15.11.2024 – Bangkok, Thailand
On November 15, Bangkok will host the beautiful Loy Krathong festival, where people gather around lakes, rivers and canals (and there are many in Bangkok) and pay their respects to the water goddess by dropping beautiful lotuses, garlands, decorated candles and lots of flowers. 15.11.2023 – Start of Christmas Markets in Vienna, Austria
From November 15 to December 23, Vienna will shine with numerous Christmas markets, which occupy almost all major squares and bring cheerfully festive tunes. Take more days to be able to visit more of these traditional markets, especially beautiful are the markets near the City Hall, near the Belvedere Palace, near the Schonbrunn Palace, and why not the Christmas market of the beautiful city of Graz that is 1 hour by train from Vienna. 15.11.2023 – Budapest, Hungary
On November 15, 2023 starts the Christmas Market in Budapest, settled in Vörösmarty Square. The lavish market fully competes with the famous German Christmas markets. 18.11.2024 – Riga, Latvia
On November 18, Latvia celebrated its Independence Day from Russia. Numerous celebrations are held throughout the country, with a large parade, concerts in the capital Riga, and in the evening fireworks. Throughout the day public transport is free. 18.11.2023 – Cologne, Germany

24.11.2023 – Lomburi, Thailand
On November 24 in the small town of Lopburi, in the beautiful Phra Prang San Yot temple, a large banquet is organized with numerous and varied fruit feasts, to which all monkeys are invited. The whole land around the temple is covered with food as a thank you to the monkeys, who attract thousands of tourists here all year round, and the feast itself is an occasion for celebration throughout the city. The former Cambodian temple is really beautiful and its inhabitants the monkeys turn your visit into an unforgettable memory. 28.11.2024 – 29.11.2024 Albania
Albania celebrates its Independence Day on November 28, and Liberation Day (from the Ottoman Empire) on November 29. Both days are non-working days and are accompanied by numerous celebrations. The celebrations are especially solemn in the two main cities of Tirana and Vlora, where there are parades and concerts. It’s usually freezing cold this time of year, but that doesn’t stop the Albanians and their guests from celebrating.
01.12.2024 – Romania
On December 1, Romania celebrates Unification Day, when in 1918 Moldova and Wallachia were united with Transylvania, Crisana, Banat and the Maramures region. The national holiday is celebrated in all the towns and cities of Romania, but since Alba Iulia is where the Unification took effect more than 100 years ago, the celebrations and ceremony there are usually the most spectacular. The day ends with spectacular fireworks.
02.12.2024 – United Arab Emirates
The United Arab Emirates celebrate their unification on December 2 each year, usually with large parades and fireworks. This year marks 53 years since the signing of an agreement between the rulers of the emirates and the creation of the United Arab Emirates, transforming the individual states into one thriving nation.
06.12.2024 – Finland: Independence Day
On December 6, Finland celebrates its independence from Russia, with a big parade in Lappeenranta. The capital city of Helsinki also has big celebrations to complement the fabulous Christmas markets, which this year will open from November 29 to December 22, 2024.
13.12.2024 – Malta: Republic Day
In December, temperatures on the sunny island of Malta vary between 15 and 20 degrees. Temperatures rise during Republic Day, which annually marks the day Malta became a republic on 13 December 1974. This year marks exactly 50 years and more celebrations and fireworks are expected.
