BELOGRADCHIK

author: Ana Boneva

230 million years ago, but it seems like yesterday, on the current place of the Belogradchik town, there was a sea with a beautiful bay. But then the sea disappeared, maybe due to the sun or a dinosaur drank it, or the ancient people divert the water to make a pool. Only the sandy land has kept the whisper of the waves, there are gorgeous formations and deep caves. Now here instead of flying seagulls, there are colorful hot air balloon festivals.

Belorgradchik friendly welcomes every tourist and guest who gets amazed by the unique nature and the air that is so fresh. Amidst the unique rocks, nature and people showed their greatness and have built together an amazing fortress. It’s worth visiting its strong stone walls, and the added later beautiful panoramic platform.

It is here, again in this very town, where an observatory is built to see the stars from afar. And the stars seem to wink at us throughout the year, as if they envy us for all the beauties preserved here.

Belogradchik has a different attire in each season and weather change, and that is why it is worth visiting it again and again.
