Sunny Mexico is a year-round excellent destination, but it is in March that it attracts thousands of tourists from all over the world to witness an extraordinary breathtaking phenomenon in one of the most famous Mayan pyramids and one of the wonders of the world – Chichen Itza. The word equinox – means that day and night last exactly the same period of time, and it is then that on March 21, 2025 (approximately at 15:16) a shadow outlining the Mayan deity Kukulkan will descend the staircase of the main pyramid of Chichen Itza: El Castillo and will bring fertility to the lands, mark the beginning of spring and the beginning of a new cycle of life.
This unique event can be combined with a wonderful vacation in Cancun or Playa del Carmen. The first resort is preferred by Americans and the second one by Europeans, but in both places you will find excellent beaches for relaxation, unique nightclubs and wonderful promenades charging you with solar energy and cheerful mood.

(3) BELIZE
Temperature in March: max. 28°C; min. 24°C
March is a wonderful time to visit this wonderful Central American country located on the coast of the Caribbean Sea. Surrounded by Spanish-speaking countries, Belize is the only country in the region with an official language – English. In March, visitors here can enjoy warm temperatures, minimal rainfall, and reasonable hotel rates. The lack of rainfall also means cleaner waters for snorkeling and diving in the best places in the country, such as the Hall Chan Marine Reserve. For wildlife lovers, this is one of the best times of the year for bird watching, as well as sea creatures like sea turtles and whale sharks (head to Gladden Spit to watch the latter gather during a full moon). Belize is home to the Belize Barrier Reef, which is the second largest coral reef in the world, as well as home to over 600 species of birds. In addition to the great natural diversity, the country also offers over 900 Mayan ruins, which reinforces Belize’s nickname “The Jewel in the Heart of the Caribbean.”
How to get there? Philip S.W. Goldson Airport is located in Ladyville, northeast of the capital Belize. Direct flights from the United States land there, and from Sofia you will have to travel with at least 2 stops.

Located on the border between Argentina and Brazil, Iguazu Falls is one of the largest waterfalls in the world and one of the world’s natural wonders. They are higher than Niagara and wider than Victoria Falls. How to get there? The easiest way to reach the waterfall is through one of the three cities in the so-called triple border between Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. On the Brazilian side, the city is Fez do Iguazu – large and relatively safe by Brazilian standards, on the Argentine side it is called Puerto Iguazu and is small but beautiful. It is home to one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in the world, Santa Maria de la Sede, as well as other UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as the Royal Palace of Alcazar and the Archivo de Indias (where valuable documents about the history of the Spanish Empire in the Americas and the Philippines are kept). March is also an excellent month for ski lovers, and the fairytale city of Chamonix has everything you could dream of during a late winter vacation. Nestled in a mountainside just below Mont Blanc, Chamonix hosted the first Winter Olympics in 1924. In March the crowds of skiers has significantly decreased and you will have slopes all to yourself. There is still a lot of snow, but the weather is mild enough. Accommodation is also more affordable, whether you’re looking for a cozy Airbnb or a sleek new ski hotel.
